A short review

I read 『the Olympics』.
The book was written about the ancient Olympics.
The ancient Olympics are different from the now Olympics.
I was surprised to know that.
For example,  the champion was given an olive crown and women could not take part in the game at the ancient Olympics.
I found  that differences very interesting.
It is wonderful that the ancient event has taken over even now!

    Thank you for your posting. Yes, it is wonderful that we can enjoy something that first started more than 1000 years ago. Why were you surprised that champions were awarded an olive crown?

    The reasons I was surprised are that people regarded olives as worthly things and there was sex discrimination at the time.
